COVID-19 - Changes to Practice

As of Monday 23rd March important changes have been made to the Hand Therapy Service in light of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

These changes include:

All initial consultations will take place online. At the initial consultation, it will be decided if patients can continue with online treatment or if they need to attend a consultation at the practice.

A strict hygiene policy will be introduced at the practice to limit the opportunity for Corona Virus infection.

All follow-up sessions to be done online unless it is necessary for an in-practice consultation.

Therapy kits will be available to purchase to assist with online hand rehabilitation.

Every care will be taken to limit community spread of the Carona Virus to protect the spread of the virus within our society. These changes will be implemented for the foreseeable future.

Research to support the efficacy of Virtual Hand Care exists and has been in practice for many years.
